If you stand at Trafalgar Square, and follows Lord Nelson’s fixed glare, you will see that he has spotted “The Olde Shades.
The bar is long and Narrow. It is split into 3 sections. The first, a traditional pub, the second the a grandiose bar, and then the eating section, The “pub” is with traditional leather benches and chairs, with pictures and quotes over historical brits. The bar is very wide, very elegant. It is in mahogany, you have tiles in black and white harlequin, mirrors behind the bar and a domed ceiling with a fantastic chandelier.
The eating section I did not visit.
It is elegant and situated in Lord Nelson and the tourists sight, why are there not more people here? I guess there are not so many people living in this area, so the locals are limited. In addition it is maybe tooooo nice. No patina, nor real life, just polished. Pubs are about real life.
But it gets credit for being beautiful!
