Buckingham Arms

This public house is also situated in the back streets not so far from Victoria Station adn St. James Park.  It is a beautiful pub from 1804, and has just been refurbished.  There is a big, very nice wooden bar. You have the etched mirrors in the bar with a golden top. Very elegant!  There is a cozy group of chairs by windows. There is a separate dining area with typical pub food.

The beer tastes good out of very clean glasses – sign of quality. The service is first class with friendly hosts.

George Villiers

The pub is named after George Villiers, the first Duke of Buckingham (1592-1628). An interesting character and he was assassinated at the age of 36.

This pub is only one of 10 pubs that have been in CAMRA Good beer guide since the start.

Today’s Normism

“How’s life treating you?”
“It’s not, Sammy, but you can!”
